Rev. Andy Bartel, Dakotas Conference elder and lead pastor at St. John’s UMC in Anchorage, Alaska, will lead a virtual Ministry Discernment Workshop this January. This workshop is the basic course and entry point for Lay Servant Ministry. The Ministry Discernment Workshop is an event for those who are feeling CALLED to serve in ministry to others. The retreat is for anyone in the local church who wants to explore their calling and find how their gifts are best suited to serve the local church or to more intentionally serve beyond the church’s four walls. Attending this online workshop, happening January 9, 2021, at 10 a.m.-2 p.m., MST, and 11 a.m -3 p.m. CST, and January 16, at 12 p.m.-4 p.m. MST, and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. CST, will help participants focus their time in areas they are best suited to serve God. Once your registration has been received you will receive by mail the “Basic Lay Servant Ministries” book for you to read prior to arrival as well as assignment details to be completed before the retreat.
