Our regularly scheduled General Conference session was to be held in Minneapolis this May: it has been RESCHEDULED for August 29-September 7, 2021 in Minneapolis. (This is the global, policy-making gathering of United Methodists that regularly meets every 4 years. The 2019 General Conference session was a specially called session.) Additionally, all Jurisdictional Conferences have been rescheduled. Jurisdictional Conferences happen the same year as regular General Conference sessions; it is at Jurisdictional Conferences that bishops are elected and assigned to their areas of ministry. Our area Jurisdictional Conference has been RESCHEDULED for November 10-13 in Ft. Wayne, IN. Dakotas bishop, Bishop Bruce Ough, has reached mandatory retirement age, but he will continue to serve as our bishop through the 2020 calendar year. We do not yet know who will serve as our bishop once Bishop Ough has retired come January 1, 2021, so please be in prayer for the leaders making such decisions!
